About the Author

David Pratt, PMP, is a certified Project Management Professional with more than 20 years of experience in managing projects of all types and sizes. He has managed projects in both the public and private sectors in a wide variety of industries, as well as in non-profit organizations and service clubs. He is the author of The IT Project Management Answer Book and Pragmatic Project Management: Five Scalable Steps to Success as well as two novels.

A retired military officer and hospital administrator, Dave currently owns DHP Project Services, LLC. He has taught marketing, health services management, and project management at the undergraduate and graduate student levels in the United States and China. He currently teaches project management at South Puget Sound Community College in Lacey, Washington, where he led the curriculum design effort for the Project Management Certificate program.

Dave frequently speaks at conferences on topics including project management, change management, leadership, innovation, and motivation. He is a member of numerous service and professional groups, including the Project Management Institute, Lions Clubs International, World Taekwondo Federation, U.S.A. Taekwondo Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.
